About Me

I have been an amateur photographer for over 30 years. I started with  an Olympus OM1 35mm film camera in 1984. From an early age I craved for a 'proper' camera but they were too expensive. I nearly bought aPentax AE1 in 1976  our of my mums Marshall Ward catalogue, but it was £26, 50p per week for 52 weeks, but as I was only earning £7.50 per week  I couldn't afford to commit.

In 1988 I bought a Mamiya M645J  medium format camera, this took 120 roll film. Each roll of film would hold 15 pictures.  I trained as a wedding photographer and did this for a number of years before shift work intervened.

In 1999 I  changed from film to digital, The Kodak DC280, 2 megapixel camera provided excellent results.

To freedom to take as many pictures as you want, to be able to reveiw them, delete the ones you don't want and  keep the ones you do - revelation.

Since then I have never looked back.
